Barn Charm ღ118ღ

July 21st 2012 - near Rombauer, Missouri (pronounced Rumbar)

I went to a Catholic conference in St Louis, Missouri last weekend with my mother
& we had such a great time.  I'll show pics of the Basilica/The Old Cathedral and the arch this week.

We listen to EWTN Radio & watch EWTN TV regularly, which are Catholic channels,
so we knew a lot of what they talked about,
but there's so much news out there that the secular media doesn't talk about...
If you want the truth, I suggest you check out those links.
I'm seriously thinking about having my Dish shut off, because I'm sick of tv & all the 'junk' on it today.
Did you know that the sexual content shown on tv has gone up over 400% in the last 2 years alone?
We have to pray, because that's the only way we're going to get rid of the evil...
Sex on tv... school shootings... Abortion... etc... etc... etc...
Did you know there are abortion survivors in the world & that most of them are here in America,
because this is where most abortions occur?
Over 56,000,000 babies aborted since Roe vs. Wade in 1973...
Did you know that Planned Parenthood is the biggest provider of abortions?
They're not in the 'women's health' business like they claim...
And, they're government funded, which means we're paying to kill babies...
over 1,000,000 every single year...
2012 was a banner year for Planned Parenthood, too,
where they received over half a BILLION from our government.

If you're still with me, I suggest we pray, and pray hard, because it's only going to get worse
& I believe that all Christians need to stick together, no matter which religion we choose.
I pray for God to grant abortionists a change of heart & the women having abortions, too.
God bless! =)

What a great barn! I'm always curious what the inside looks like.

Whoa, those are definitely staggering, disheartening statistics.

Beautiful barn, and I love the b&w and texture - great edits! We don't even have television while we're at Away, and we don't miss it at all. It's gotten to the point we barely watch it at home anymore, either. I'm looking forward to your pictures of St Louis!

Lovely black and white image, Tricia.

Great looking barn...we had the same idea this week with the b&w...I agree about the "evils' of this world effected by what is on TV now. Too much sex, too much violence, too much language, too much reality TV.

love your barn. Somehow, they seem so different than what I find here in OH. Not sure why. Thanks for hosting!

Wonderful barn and the edits really make it special!
This world is definitely changing...and not for the better. Our country has a lot to answer for in allowing so many abortions to be performed, I believe. Also for removing God from so much. And the crap they show on tv! Gads. I could happily do away with tv, but hubby wouldn't know what to do without one.
I will join you in prayer, Tricia. God bless you!

Old barns look great in Black and White,
and yes, it is a great tragedy...

Great old barn! I listen to EWTN on the radio now. Bet the conference was an eye-opener. I need to start including the things you talked about in my prayers.

Beautiful barn! I agree, I can't stand most tv, or movies for that matter. WAY too offensive. My youngest daughter is adopted. Her birth mom could have easily aborted her. I will be forever grateful that she didn't.

A fine barn today with such well weathered wood. A solid looking barn even with a door hanging loose. I appreciate and agree with your sentiments expressed about the the destruction of babies.

Always love your pictures. My daughter's best friend in high school had an abortion when she was in high school...without her parents ever knowing. I didn't know, either, or I would have talked some sense into her. She lives with that guilt now and wishes she had never had and abortion...wondering what her child would be like at twenty-two. It's so sad.

I also work with a young woman who has had several abortions and tells me all the time she will go to Hell. I know there is something more to her story than any of us know because she is a wonderful young woman. I just grieve for her and her aborted children. It's sad all the way around.

I don't know what the answer is, but kindness, understanding and love couldn't hurt from any direction. There are just so many broken people....so many.

I agree 100% with you on this post! The garbage that they are calling t.v. these days is amazing, and it's no different here in Canada. Not only do we need to stick together though we need to take action and be a voice!

Love the old barn!
And I agree: it's odd that when all the politicians are gathering to discuss what we can do to stop all the shootings, violence, etc., no one ever mentions prayer.
Oh, that's right: they can't!

Love the barn... abortion has killed more than a whole generation in the US... so sad.

interesting closed up spaces in that barn but what caught my eye was the door hanging by a hinge to the left.

Beautiful old barn! In spite of its rustic nature, it looks to be in pretty good shape.

Great barn and great edit. I like the black and white.
Wonder what the round part on the door is.

You're right about the world today. It's very scary, having grandchildren growing up now.

We do need to pray...and, pray HARD.

I love your beautiful barn and the way you show it off so magnificently with that perfect photograph. I'm a day late adding some barns seen in Boundary Bay, BC, but hope they will still be enjoyed :)
